Propane Chat in Jeproady

Dear Propane Chat Customer,

About a month ago Wix removed the Wix Chat App from their App Store and discontinued the third party API, both of which Propane Chat uses to interface with the Wix Inbox Ecosystem. They did this without notifying us (or anyone else to our knowledge).

Thankfully, if you already had the Wix Chat App installed you could continue to use Propane Chat, however, since Wix Chat is no longer installable for new users neither is Propane Chat installable for new users.

As soon as we became aware of this we reached out to Wix App Support with the hope of getting Wix Chat and/or the API reinstated so that we could continue to serve our current and future customers. Thus far their responses have been evasive.

We are now hearing rumors (from a few of our current customers and others) that Wix may have begun force updating “Wix Chat” (the one Propane Chat is compatible with) to the new “Wix Smart Chat” (which is not compatible with Propane Chat), again, without mentioning anything to us or our customers.

While these rumors are unconfirmed we wanted to inform our customers that they should not uninstall the Wix Chat App nor “upgrade” to the Wix Smart Chat App if they wish to continue using Propane Chat. We are also asking our clients, the users of Propane Chat who wish to continue using Propane Chat, to send an email to Wix Support requesting, with us, to reinstate the Wix Chat App and/or the Wix Inbox Third-Party API. This would be the best way to ensure that Propane Chat will continue to exist and improve into the future. At the bottom of this email you can find some suggested phrasing.

To help support those who no longer have the Wix Chat app available to them we are making the Embedded Chat feature, currently only availalbe within the Torch Plan, available to all Propane Chat users at all tiers and subscriptions. Wix Smart Chat is a competitor to Propane Chat (albeit with fewer features and abismal customer reviews) and the actions that are being taken by Wix without consulting us nor our customers, we think, constitute blatant anti-competitive behavior. We appreciate you taking the time to read this, and if possible, forwarding your sentiments to Wix support. We are here to assist you in any way when needed.

Dear Wix,

I am a Propane Chat Wix App Customer and I have been informed that Wix has removed, without warning, the original Wix Chat App and Third-Party Wix Inbox APIs. I would like to continue using Propane Chat, and other Wix Apps, that rely on these services. Please reinstate them immediately so as to not disrupt my business operations or my customer service. Wix’s anti-competitive behavior is harming me, my business, and Wix’s App Ecosystem.
